Our team of highly experienced facilitators support Holocaust and genocide education in schools, for Grade 9 and 11 learners, through interactive programmes. We use many resources, films and experiential exercises.
A group of dedicated Holocaust survivors and survivors of the Rwandan genocide voluntarily visit schools and share their testimonies with learners.
Using the portable exhibition, The Holocaust- lessons for Humanity, facilitators from the
facilitators from the Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre will come to your school and explain and discuss the lessons for humanity arising out of the Holocaust.
Learners examining the portable exhibition
Working with the
Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre has allowed the learners to engage with issues from the past in a more meaningful and realistic manner. The lessons that were learnt and the thinking that was encouraged, like being an activist in the face of adversity, have shifted the learners to actioning their words and lessons, and they are motivated to make challenging new choices. The learners are not only learning history but also the skills that are needed in building a new tolerant society in South Africa.
