SUMMARY:Book Launch: Epitaph of no words by Jeanine Hack
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the special book launch by Jeanine Hack of the book “Epitaph Of No Words.” \nThe book details Emil and Martha Galliner struggles as they fled Nazi Germany through Shanghai\, United States before moving to South West Africa (Namibia)\, and finally to Johannesburg. This book records their trauma and recognizes their attempts to restore their dignity. \nJeanine Hack\nJeanine is the great-granddaughter of Emil and Martha Galliner whom this book is about. She grew up in Windhoek\, and has lived in Cape Town for thirty-six years. It was her grandmother Dodi who gave the postcards to Jeanine which formed the basis for this book. As a direct descendent\, Jeanine felt compelled to respond to how the lives of her great-grandparents were affected by the forced expulsion from Nazi Germany in June 1941.
