Judy Diamant was born in Ostrava, Czech Republic, in 1932. She went to school there until the Germans closed the Jewish schools. As a child, she was deported to Theresienstadt where she remained until liberation in May 1945. After living in Kenya, England and Italy, she settled in South Africa in 1965. She moved to America to be near her daughters.
