The reason I chose this photo is because to others this old woman looks like an ordinary old person, however, I interpret it with much more meaning. The way I see and perceive this image is that this is a strong woman who has been a part of a very important part of history, and whose life had been immensely impacted by this period. She is a survivor of the Holocaust, from Rhodes Island. It was interesting to engage with this period in history through Art.
