Struck by an image of a young child in the Holocaust Museum, Mia questioned how we remember and represent victims through the artistic materials we use. In washes of coffee on the one hand, and quink and bleach on the other, Mia explored a fluid medium with thin washes of paint that only ever suggest and evoke a semblance of the subject, suggesting her place in memory.
