Bella Avzaradel was born in Rhodes Island and deported to Auschwitz. She was liberated at Bergen-Belsen and lived in Italy for a brief period of time. In 1946, she emigrated to the Congo. Bella settled in South Africa in 1960. She passed away in 2007 and is sorely missed by her many friends in the Cape Town Jewish community.
